I can not read runes to save my life, I love them but will stick with my Tarot cards. It hasn’t stopped me though from charting them out to at least crochet them. Here are the basics for each square that I centered the various rune charts on. Worsted weight yarn, size H hook, and for each black square that is on the chart counts as a bobble stitch. How to do a bobble stitch, **yarn over( yo), insert hook into stitch , yo pull thru 2 loops (there will be one loop unworked from each yo on your hook) **, repeat from **to ** 6 more times. YO pull thru all 8 hoops on your hook, chain 1. This creates a puffed out or bobble stitch. Also please note I DO NOT count the 2 chains as the first Double crochet, you can if you want to but I do not.
For all following squares,Row 1: ch 27, dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in remaining 24 chains. You now have 25 dc. Row 2: ch 2 (**reminder again I do not count this ch 2 as the first dc) dc in all 25 dc. Row 3: Make sure you center the chart , you will dc until you reach a black square, do bobble stitch, dc across. Row 4: ch 1, sc in each sc, when you come to the bobble stitch do not sc in the ch instead sc in the long loops ( you will see the difference) and in the remaining dc. Repeat Rows 3 & 4 until you have completed the chart. Work 2 rows of dc, now you will need to sc around the entire square making sure to put 3 sc into each corner so that it will lay flat.
These are very vague but basic instructions for each rune square, you will have to figure out the amount needed to dc before each bobble stitch for each square, now that shouldn’t be too hard right ? I will release a chart every week for each rune. If you get stuck or can’t understand a darn thing, just go to either Facebook (hit the button on the front page of this site) or over to Witchy Crocheters on Ravelry Please do not post my charts anywhere just give out a link to this page. Thanks and Enjoy
